It’s Me

Hi everyone.  My name is Darla Synnestvedt and I am a journalism major with a concentration in magazine.

After 10 years in a career in law firm management (yup, that makes me old) I decided to go back to school and learn a new trade (oh yeah, and finally get my undergrad too) so, here I am.  I love to write, but even more I love food.  Put the two together and I love to write about food (and travel).  I spent the past four months wandering the globe from India to Dubai to Hawaii blogging about the various things I was putting in my mouth and the other various things I was putting my feet through.  Check out my food has feet for a taste of me.

The plan for now (at 30 I can recognize that my plan is ALWAYS changing) is to finish up here and then head to The Culinary Institute of America to learn how to cook like a pro.  Then?  Good question.  My two dream jobs are to private chef on a yacht sailing through the Mediterranean Sea and India Ocean and to work the kitchen of a heli-ski resort in British Columbia (I’m a die-hard snowboarder).  Big dreams.  Short life.  Got to get a move on…
